Welcome to Farmer's Delight Plantation
Welcome to Farmer's Delight Plantation, Home of The McGhee Foundation

Farmer’s Delight Plantation is currently a diamond in the rough, a unique place in Loudoun County and Virginia, and nothing short of a treasure. From the lush greenery of the gardens and Arboretum, to the rich history and legacy of the Manor House, plantation buildings and operating farm, to the wonder of Ambassador George C. McGhee’s collections of geologic specimens, masks, textiles, pottery, antiques, and his own personal papers — every corner of the Plantation is truly a "delight." As a student of the world, the Ambassador sought to promote a love of learning and to inspire curiosity. We here at The McGhee Foundation share the Ambassador’s vision, and we hope you will as well.

The McGhee Foundation serves as the steward of historic Farmer's Delight Plantation and will continue to expand and broaden the capabilities of the organization and facilities as funding permits.

The Foundation's ultimate goal is the full employment of the Plantation buildings and grounds in meaningful historical, educational, and scholarly pursuits, and opening the facilities to the community for general enjoyment.
